‘If the only thing in your toolkit is a hammer then all your problems are nails’.

At home, you have several different tools in the toolbox because all your DIY problems do not involve nails. Problem solving in business is the same, you need to have a range of different problem tools available. Begin with a basic set of tools for a basic toolbox and take it from there, acquiring more tools as problems occur.

Of course having acquired a range of tools and even the ability to use each of them the trick comes in knowing which tool to use in different situations.

So, where next?
This is an article in-development. We would like to work with readers and members of the IP community to build this embryonic thought into a short pithy article and, if members think it has the legs, into a full-blown feature.
